    Get PDF
UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) can be described as aircraft that do not need any presence of pilots inside it. Basically, UAV is come out in a small aircraft sothat the aircraft can be easily controlled by the people from afar[1]. The UAV’s motor support bar length control systems are the UAV’s control systems that move according to the variable arm length movement and also a constant revolution of the propeller speeds. The purpose of the study is to run the dynamic analysis at the UAV’s motor support bar length control systems and also to enhance the UAV’s mathematical modellingby using the SOLIDWORKS®software which involved in using both CAD and CAE systems[2]. The detaileddesign is used SOLIDWORKS®software to conduct the static and dynamic analysis of UAV’s motor support bar length control systems. The design is restricted to the arm due to the critical part that has the highest vibration at the UAV’s motor support bar length control systems. The results that obtain from the study from the static and dynamic analysis are the displacement of the motor, Von Misses stress of the arm, and also the resonance frequency that will give the modes shape to the systems

    Future Community-Based Ecotourism (CBET) development

    Get PDF
Ecotourism is an alternative form of tourism and is usually confused with natural and cultural tourism.CBET is fast becoming a popular biodiversity conservation tool that develops and benefits the local community. Based on the context of conservation theory and practice, Community-Based Ecotourism (CBET) is a form of community-based natural resource management. However, a sustainable CBET development through Community Capacity Building (CCB)programs is not something that it easily achievable. Local community’s capacity varies from one culture to another. It takes a high level of community participation, in order for it to come to a level where the community members themselves are motivated to participate and contribute to the development of the program. This fully qualitative research involved 15 respondents from the community of Kg. Selai, Bekok in Johor, Malaysia. The result show there are five factors that sustained the ecotourism development based for Orang Asli Community in Kg. Selai, namely, existing CBET development, past CBET development, local community participation in planning stage of tourism, local participation in implementation stage of tourism and participation in nature conservation

Surface States and Resonances in Field Emission from Low Index Facets of Clean Tungsten

The energies, widths, and shapes of features observed in the total energy distributions in field emission from W(100) and W(111) are compared with the results of a full-potential LAPW calculation of the surface density of states based on a supercell model of the crystal structure at the metal-vacuum interface. The Swanson hump on W(100) is attributed to two bands of surface states and surface resonances of dz^2 symmetry that are highly localised at the center of the surface Brillouin zone (Gamma_bar), and a second peak observed at lower energy is attributed to a band of surface resonances, also of dz^2 symmetry, centred at 0.11 A^(-1) along Gamma_bar to X_bar. The energy scale of the calculated total energy distribution is compressed by about 20% relative to the experimental data. The present calculation yields strong evidence that the broad asymmetric peak observed on W(111) is due to emission from a band of surface resonances. Further calculations for W(111) are proposed both to test the accuracy of the band model and to take into account the velocity factor that enters in a calculation of the emission current.Comment: 18 text pages, 8 figure pages, to be published in 'Progress in Surface Science

More recent classifications used mainly morphological data when Histiopteris was included as one of the genera in the family Dennstaedtiaceae. A study on spore micromorphological and anatomical studies of Histiopteris J. Sm. from Peninsular Malaysia was undertaken to provide spore micromorphological and anatomical information of the stipes, lamina and rhizomes for the genus. These information would become the source of reference and comparison for other members within the family Dennstaedtiaceae and would deem necessary in future classification considerations of Histiopteris when similar studies are carried out for all genera of the Dennstaedtiaceae in the near future

Fifteen years experience: Egyptian metabolic lab

    Get PDF
Background: Inborn errors of metabolism (IEM) are single gene disorders responsible for abnormalities in the synthesis or catabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and fats by means of defective enzymes or transport proteins which results in a block of the metabolic pathway and accumulation of metabolites in different tissues. This study shows the most common diagnosed inherited inborn errors of metabolism among the Egyptian population. Prior to 1995, the diagnosis of inherited metabolic disorders in Egypt was very limited and diagnosed mainly on clinical suspicion. In 1995, The Biochemical Genetics Unit at The National Research Centre has been established as a part of The Human Genetics Department and later on in 2003 it was developed into The Biochemical Genetics Department by applying advanced techniques and equipments and providing early diagnosis for the metabolic disorders which led to better outcome in our patients. Material and methods: We have retrospectively reviewed a total of 12,148 cases suspected to have inborn errors of metabolism (IEM) with different age groups. They had been referred from several diagnostic centers and hospitals in Egypt to The Department of Biochemical Genetics at The National Research Centre. The diagnosis of these disorders was confirmed by qualitative determination of amino acid profile, quantitative determination of phenylalanine and galactose levels using dried blood spots (DBSs), quantitative determination of urinary glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), twodimensional electrophoretic separation of GAGs in urine and the assay for lysosomal enzymes activities in plasma and leukocytes. Results: Out of the total number of cases; 1041 (8.6%) patients were proved to have metabolic disorders. Those patients were classified as: 722 patients (69.4%) with lysosomal storage disorders, 302 patients (29%) with amino acid disorders and 17 patients (1.6%) with galactosemia. Conclusion: This study illustrates the experience of the reference metabolic lab in Egypt over 15 years. The lab began metabolic disorder screening by using simple diagnostic techniques like thin layer chromatography and colored tests in urine which by time updated and upgraded the methods to diagnose a wide range of disorders. This study shows the most common diagnosed inherited inborn errors of metabolism among the Egyptian population. Keywords: IEM; Consanguineous marriages; Aminoacidopathies; Lysosomal storage disorder
